Oh Christmas Tree

The tree is finished..... I love it. Now on to decorating rest of the house.

French Apple Pie

We celebrated Thanksgiving today since my husband worked on Thanksgivingday. I decided I would bring an apple pie. It's my favorite and I have NEVER made one. I thought I'd give it a try..... OMG it's good!

Impossibly Easy French Apple Pie

Filling
3 cups sliced peeled apples (3 large)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup Original Bisquick mix
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs

Streusel
1/2 cup Original Bisquick mix
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons firm butter or margarine

1. Heat oven to 325ºF. Grease 9-inch glass pie plate. In medium bowl, mix apples, cinnamon and nutmeg; place in pie plate.
2. In medium bowl, stir remaining filling ingredients until well blended. Pour over apple mixture in pie plate. In small bowl, mix all streusel ingredients until crumbly; sprinkle over filling.
3. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. Store in refrigerator.

It's Starting To Look A Little Like Christmas

We went to go get the Christmas tree today. Of course it's Black Friday so I had to do a little shopping. We went to the Container Store to pick up a few things I need to finish up the kitchen organizing project. Had lunch and went to USA Baby to look for a diaper bag I have been wanting. However after inspecting it I decided that it wasn't going to work. Alright now we can go get the tree and then stop for dinner. We get home and my hubby starts to pull into the garage and we hear a horrible sound... THE TREE! He backs out and we both jump out to take a look. It's fine. We look to see if we still have the tree stand from last year... nope. He heads to Target to get a tree stand. Finially we can put the lights on.... that's all that happened today. It still looks great with only lights.

Table Setting Inspiration

My church is having a woman's CHRISTmas lunch with holiday music. I volunteered to decorate a table. After I thought about it for awhile I decided I would like to have my theme be a Beachy Chirstmas. The reason for beach theme; The Foot Prints in the Sand poem.

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND Pictures, Images and Photos

I had a bunch of ideas in mind so I went on Flickr.com to see if I could get some pictures for inspiration. These are afew that I like, a few are exactly what I was thinking. The lunch is on December 6th, I will post pictures of the table setting.

And A Picket Fence

And A Picket Fence is my place to chat about the stuff that interest me. The place I can show off my hobbies and things I enjoy. Crafts and projects that I find on other blogs and try out. Recipes I made, I'm trying to cook more. I say I don't really like to cook but I really don't like to clean up after cooking or planning the meals. This is my creative release, my own place to be me. I'm still finding that out, as crazy as that sounds being in my late twenties. AREN'T I supposed to know who I am by now?? I guess it's and journey and I will always be learning about myself.
